An air ticket may include a free luggage allowance, or provide only free carry-on luggage.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated May 9, 2017, No. 202 “On peculiarities of the use of enhanced security measures during the FIFA World Cup 2018 in the Russian Federation and the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017” there is a ban for transportation (traffic) of civil and service weapons and ammunition from May 25 to July 25, 2018, on the territory of constituent entities of the Russian Federation within which transport infrastructure facilities are located (Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Saransk). Exceptions are as follows: exposure, registration, storage and seizure of civil and service weapons and cartridges, transfer, transportation, transportation, use, import to the Russian Federation and export from the Russian Federation of sport firearms and cartridges for the purpose of preparing and performing all-Russian and international shooting sport competitions, as well as transfer, bearing, transportation and use of civil and service weapons and cartridges when employees of legal entities with special authorized tasks assigned to them by the federal laws perform their duties related to protection the lives and health of citizens, nature and natural resources, valuable and dangerous goods, special correspondence.
Individuals who are citizens of the Russian Federation are permitted to transfer no more than 5 units of weapons and no more than 1,000 cartridges with gross weight no more than 5 kg on an aircraft.
Registration of weapons and/or ammunition and special assets transportation is carried out at the airport of departure, permission from the Airline is not required.
Transportation of weapons and/or ammunition in the following directions shall be agreed with the Airline:
Portable electronic devices with lithium-ion batteries with specific power up to 100 watt-hours (lithium-metal batteries with lithium content not exceeding 2 g), such as mobile phones, laptops, photo and video cameras, music player, portable medical devices are accepted for transportation both as carry-on luggage and as checked-in luggage of a passenger. Meanwhile, if the above mentioned devices are transported in the luggage, the batteries shall be inside the equipment, and the passenger must take measures to prevent their spontaneous switching on and/or activation. The device must be switched off in the checked luggage.
Production of animal origin (poultry meat, processed meat products from poultry meat, and all kinds of poultry-farming products, containing poultry processing products, with the exception of the goods that have been thermally processed) is prohibited for transportation in carry-on luggage to the Russian Federation from the European Union countries (Austria, Great Britain, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Sweden).
