Luggage and carry-on luggage

Luggage and carry-on luggage allowance is determined by airline ticket fare. Each passenger has a right for free carry-on luggage transportation within the established norms.

An air ticket may include a free luggage allowance, or provide only free hand luggage.

Starting from October 28, 2018, according to the rules of luggage allowance, the number of baggage articles, its dimensions and weight are taken into account.

Carry-on luggage - dimensions of one article of carry-on luggage should not exceed 115 cm in the aggregate of three dimensions (55х40х20 cm)

Luggage - dimensions of one article of luggage should not exceed 203 cm in the aggregate of three dimensions

1 - When flying to / from Sanya (China), the free carry-on luggage allowance is up to 5 kg.

2 - When flying:

  • to / from Sanya (China), the free baggage allowance is 1 article of luggage up to 15 kg.
  • to / from Vanavara, Tura, Turukhansk, Podkamennaya Tunguska, Igarka, Severo-Eniseysk, Hatanga the free baggage allowance is 1 article of luggage up to 20 kg.

Free luggage allowance can be either increased or decreased for separate destinations and periods of flights. Actual information about free luggage allowance is stated on the itinerary receipt.

Free luggage allowance for chartered flights does not depend on the tariff according to which the ticket was bought, it is stated on the itinerary receipt.

  • Backpack with the weight and dimensions specified by the carrier rules, or ladies' handbag, or brief case with items put into the backpack, the bag or the brief case
  • If a baby is transported, baby bassinet or baby stroller with dimensions specified by the carrier rules and permitting their safe placement in the aircraft cabin either on the shelf over passenger seats or under the preceding passenger’s seat
  • Crutches, walking sticks, walkers, rollators, folding wheelchairs used by a passenger, with dimensions that permit their safe placement in the aircraft cabin either on the shelf over passenger seats or under the preceding passenger’s seat
  • Goods purchased at duty-free shops at the airport, packed in a sealed plastic bag

Only those baby bassinets and baby strollers which dimensions do not exceed those ones specified for carry-on luggage, are permitted to be carried in the aircraft cabin. In case the above parameters are exceeded, bassinets and strollers are weighed at the check-in desk, labeled with luggage tags, not permitted to be carried to the aircraft cabin, but are transported free of charge regardless of the other luggage weight.

In addition to free luggage allowance, free transportation of one set of skiing / mountain skiing equipment in a special case is permitted for one passenger at all flights of the Airline. A set of skiing / mountain skiing equipment includes one pair of mountain or cross-country skis with ski sticks or one snowboard, as well as one pair of specialized shoes. Weight of the set of skiing / mountain skiing equipment should not exceed 23 kg for Economy class passengers and 30 kg for Business class passengers (dimension restrictions, specified for standard luggage, are not applicable).

In case one article of luggage exceeds 30 kg or 203 cm in the aggregate of three dimensions, this luggage is paid according to the rates of oversized luggage based on the total weight of the article of luggage.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated May 9, 2017, No. 202 “On peculiarities of the use of enhanced security measures during the FIFA World Cup 2018 in the Russian Federation and the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017” there is a ban for transportation (traffic) of civil and service weapons and ammunition from May 25 to July 25, 2018, on the territory of constituent entities of the Russian Federation within which transport infrastructure facilities are located (Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Saransk).

Exceptions are as follows: exposure, registration, storage and seizure of civil and service weapons and cartridges, transfer, transportation, transportation, use, import to the Russian Federation and export from the Russian Federation of sport firearms and cartridges for the purpose of preparing and performing all-Russian and international shooting sport competitions, as well as transfer, bearing, transportation and use of civil and service weapons and cartridges when employees of legal entities with special authorized tasks assigned to them by the federal laws perform their duties related to protection the lives and health of citizens, nature and natural resources, valuable and dangerous goods, special correspondence.

Individuals who are citizens of the Russian Federation are permitted to transfer no more than 5 units of weapons and no more than 1,000 cartridges with gross weight no more than 5 kg on an aircraft.

Registration of weapons and/or ammunition and special assets transportation is carried out at the airport of departure, permission from the Airline is not required.

Transportation of weapons and/or ammunition in the following directions shall be agreed with the Airline:

  • Krasnoyarsk - Vanavara, Vanavara - Krasnoyarsk
  • Krasnoyarsk - Tura, Tura - Krasnoyarsk
  • Krasnoyarsk - Baykit, Baykit - Krasnoyarsk
  • Krasnoyarsk - Khatanga, Khatanga - Krasnoyarsk

Portable electronic devices with lithium-ion batteries with specific power up to 100 watt-hours (lithium-metal batteries with lithium content not exceeding 2 g), such as mobile phones, laptops, photo and video cameras, music players, portable medical devices are accepted for transportation both as carry-on luggage and as checked-in luggage of a passenger. Meanwhile, if the above mentioned devices are transported in the luggage, the batteries shall be inside the equipment, and the passenger must take measures to prevent their spontaneous switching on and/or activation. The device must be switched off in the checked luggage.

Electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, and chargers for them are accepted for transportation only in the passenger’s carry-on luggage.

Portable electronic devices with lithium-ion batteries with specific power from 100 watt-hours to 160 watt-hours (lithium-metal batteries with lithium content 2–8 g), such as laptops with extended life, professional audio and video equipment, portable medical devices, are accepted for transportation both in carry-on luggage and in checked luggage of the passenger. Transportation of such devices shall be mandatorily agreed upon with the Airline. Meanwhile, if the above mentioned devices are transported in the luggage, the batteries can be inside the equipment , and the passenger must take measures to prevent their spontaneous switching on and/or activation. The device must be switched off in the checked luggage.

Small-size vehicles (mono-wheels, segways (mini-segways), hoverboards, gyroscooters, electric kick scooters, etc.), operating on lithium batteries up to 160 watt-hours can be accepted for transportation in checked luggage provided that the battery is removed from the equipment. The removed batteries can be transported only in carry-on luggage.

Ion-lithium batteries with specific power not exceeding 160 watt-hours, can be transported as spare batteries in carry-on luggage. Spare batteries must be separately protected to exclude the possibility of short circuit by means of open poles isolation and placing each battery to a separate protective bag. No more than two individually protected batteries per a passenger are permitted for transportation.

Small-size vehicles (mono-wheels, segways (mini-segways), hoverboards, gyroscooters, electric kick scooters, etc.) operating on lithium batteries with specific power more than 160 watt-hours are forbidden for transportation. Transportation of these assets is possible only if they are registered as cargo in accordance with the rules of dangerous goods transportation by air, through a dangerous goods warehouse according to Technical Instructions for Safe Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284 AN\905).

Exceptions are wheelchairs and similar means of transportation used by passengers with limited excursion due to particular health condition, age or temporary conditions. In this a case it is required to coordinate transportation of the mobile vehicle with the airline in advance. If the mobile vehicle’s design permits to remove the battery, the battery must be removed, placed to a protective package, and transported in the main cabin. Transportation in checked luggage is permitted, but the battery power should not exceed 300 watt-hours. In all cases, the mobile vehicle must be switched off.

Production of animal origin (poultry meat, processed meat products from poultry meat, and all kinds of poultry-farming products, containing poultry processing products, with the exception of the goods that have been thermally processed) is prohibited for transportation in carry-on luggage to the Russian Federation from the European Union countries (Austria, Great Britain, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Sweden).
