NordStar Airlines carried the one millionth passenger

NordStar Airlines transported the one millionth passenger in 2018. The event took place on the last day of summer — August 31, earlier than last year. This year’s milestone passenger was a resident of Norilsk Georgii Skuratov traveling with his family to Moscow and from there to Sochi on vacation. Georgii Skuratov works as a driver of the second column of ATO TsATK and flies with NordStar Airlines each year, however, he admitted, he did not expect such a surprise in the airline’s anniversary year.

NordStar Airlines traditionally presented the millionth passenger with a certificate for a free flight, which can be used within a year from the date of issue. When asked on what route the lucky ticket will be used, Georgii Skuratov answered that the certificate would most probably wait for the next summer and be used on one of the summer routes.

Leonid Mokhov, General Director of NordStar Airlines, congratulated the millionth passenger and noted: “Meeting of the millionth passenger is a significant event, and in this year such result is especially important. During the summer peak period airline operated in extreme conditions and constraints associated with renovation of the runway at Norilsk Airport. Constraints primarily affected the working distance of the runway and the maximum passenger load. Passengers who flew with us this year could see free passenger seats. This restriction allowed us to take off and land on a short working section of the runway, but at the same time demanded that we take measures on introduction of additional flights in order to compensate for these vacant seats and satisfy passenger demand. As a result, despite all the restrictions, we managed to carry the maximum number of passengers during this summer compared to the similar periods of previous years”.
